Have you ever heard of Limousin flognarde? No! but yes... if you make clafoutis with something other than cherries... you make flognarde! The flognarde is the same pastry as for a clafoutis, but with beautiful Limousin PDO golden apples, of course! And as always, there are different recipes for different families.
Here's a traditional recipe that has been handed down from mother to daughter for generations... Enjoy!

Recipe

  • Preparation time : 30 min
  • Cooking time duration : 30 min

Ingredients for 6 people :

  • 5 Limousin apples (very important!)
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 100 grams of flour
  • 1/2 litre milk (500 mL)

Preparation:

  1. Butter a mould beforehand
  2. Preheat oven to 180°C
  3. Break the eggs and whisk
  4. Add the sugar and mix
  5. Stir in the milk to obtain a homogeneous mixture
  6. Add the flour and mix
  7. Peel and slice (or dice) the apples
  8. Spread the apples over the bottom of the dish
  9. Pour the mixture over the top
  10. Bake for 30 minutes

Our tips?

You can replace the apples with other fruits (pears, plums, apricots.... )

If you get lumps in your dough, blend it with a hand blender.
