Have you ever heard of Limousin flognarde? No! but yes... if you make clafoutis with something other than cherries... you make flognarde! The flognarde is the same pastry as for a clafoutis, but with beautiful Limousin PDO golden apples, of course! And as always, there are different recipes for different families.
Here's a traditional recipe that has been handed down from mother to daughter for generations... Enjoy!
Ingredients for 6 people :
- 5 Limousin apples (very important!)
- 4 eggs
- 200 grams of sugar
- 100 grams of flour
- 1/2 litre milk (500 mL)
Preparation:
- Butter a mould beforehand
- Preheat oven to 180°C
- Break the eggs and whisk
- Add the sugar and mix
- Stir in the milk to obtain a homogeneous mixture
- Add the flour and mix
- Peel and slice (or dice) the apples
- Spread the apples over the bottom of the dish
- Pour the mixture over the top
- Bake for 30 minutes
