Saint-Julien-de-Brioude church in Concèze
About
The semi-circular chevet, lined on the inside with colonnettes and arcades under high plinths, the apse and the chancel date from the Romanesque period; the nave, flanked by a aisle with two side chapels, is criss-crossed with graceful primate ribs. This part of the church belongs to the later ogival period. The church must have been enlarged at this time, in which case the Romanesque part would be the remains of an earlier church. Added to these remarkable features is the age of the bell, which dates back to 1475 and was listed as a historic monument on 12 November 1908.
